Wild Wild Water in the Wild Wild West

Okay, so today we travel into FrontierLand....Did you know Davy Crockett had 3 ears? A left ear, a right ear, and a wild frontier (sound it out). Anyways, this land is pretty big and has plenty of need for water fountains, i.e. in the desert? So whether you're lookin' for a quick way to wet your whistle or a downright, yee haw drenching of your thirst, this entry will pick ya up, partner. Lets begin:

DF#1
As you walk into FrontierLand, there is the giant store with the name Mercantile on your left; once you see the store, turn left a bit more, towards AdventureLand. Right underneath the Fort.
Flow: 3/5
Location: 5/5
Temperature: 3/4
Size: 2/3
Theme: 3/3
Overall: 16/20 Pretty good Fountain. Although it has multiple sizes, the higher one has always dribbled since as far back as I can remember. Also, the theme is cool, gold pan set in wood: Frontier indeed.

WF#2
Zocalo Park. In front of Zocalo Ranch Restaurant. In the little rock area,
Flow: 5/5
Location: 5/5
Temperature: 4/4
Size: 3/3
Theme: 3/3
Overall: 20/20. OH MAMA!!! This is our highest scoring drinking fountain yet! Great everything. This water is great, and this fountain is awesome! It has three sizes and each work great, all are cold and the fountains themselves are bronzed and in rock. 20/20?!?! This fountain is a trooper.
A real Buffalo Soldier. Hands down best in FrontierLand. Go ahead, drink from this and be happy.

WF#3
Inside Big Thunder queue.
Flow: 2/5
Location: 2/5
Temperature: 2/4
Size: 2/3
Theme: 3/3
Overall: 11/20. What a letdown...First off, you're rushed by the line, then, you have to practically put your mouth on the metal to get water, and then it's warm!!! I'd rather drink the water that falls from the waterfall in the ride. I almost left the line in disgust, then I remembered I was going on Thunder Mountain.

WF#4
Big Thunder exit.
Flow: 3/5
Location: 5/5
Temperature: 3/4
Size: 3/3
Theme: 3/3
Overall: 17/20. This one got huge points in location for standard reasons and for the fact that if you drank from the previous fountain, YOU NEED THIS. It's good. Two sizes, built into rock, and not that crammed in traffic.

WF#5
Pirate's Lair on Tom Sawyer's Island. To the left of the landing.
Flow: 5/5
Location: 5/5
Temperature: 3/4
Size: 3/3
Theme: 2/3
Overall: 18/20. Real good drinking fountain. Three sizes, only thing that brings it down is it's temperature, it's just alright. Also high Location points because it's easy to find and you'll need water on that Island chasing your kids.

WF#6
Pirate's Lair on Tom Sawyer's Island. North side of the island, opposite of the landing. Next to the bathrooms on the island.
Flow: 4/5
Location: 3/5
Temperature: 3/4
Size: 1/3
Theme: 3/3
Overall Score: 14/20. The Flow is good but it wavers around and will get your face wet. It's kind of hidden, and also very small.

It would appear we have great water drinking fountains in FrontierLand. A perfect scorer, and a few higher middle class ones as well. Take heart in knowing in the Wild West, you can stay refreshed.....JUST STAY AWAY FROM THE WATER IN THE LINE FOR BIG THUNDER!!!

Drinking Fountains of the Future

Welcome to my second post on Drinking Fountains in the Park. I apologize for this being so late, but I've been busy busy busy. So let me set this up:

I finished my grading of Tomorrow Land's drinking fountains last night with Space Mountain's Non-FP (Fast Pass) queue's fountain. Maybe you can guess that its location is inconvenient so you can likely guess it takes a hit for that....I'm getting ahead of my self.....I'm gonna give the order of the WFs (water fountains) by order of appearance from entering from main street.
Here we go:

WF#1
Outside the Little Green Men Store Command shop, exit of Buzz Lightyear.
Tucked away in a little nook.
Flow: 2/5 Dribbles out and has a low stream.
Location: 4/5 Away from traffic, in the sun, can get crowded by strollers.
Temperature: 2/4 Starts tepid, ends tepid.
Theme: 2/3 On "spacy" pillars.
Size: 3/3 Two sizes, independent of each other.
Overall 13/20 Decent, not the worst. But the Temp. and Stream make it an uncomfortable drink. Move along.

WF#2
Space Mountain Exit, Behind the Arcade and near Restrooms.
Flow: 3/5 High but thin.
Location 3/5 Crowded due to the Handicap line, Good shade, too close to restrooms.
Temperature: 2/4 For a WF in shade, the water is still mediocre.
Theme: 2/3 Boring hardware, but saved from lower points by the painting of Earth above it.
Size: 3/3 Two sizes
Overall Score 13/20 Not tasty, almost warm. Has shade, but loud surroundings.

WF#3
Walking past Captain EO, up the walkway to Space Mountain, on the right of the path.
Flow: 5/5 Away, and High.
Location: 5/5 In shade, and away from the path. Great moment of need.
Temperature: 3/4 Nice and refreshing. It doesn't make your teeth chatter, but it'll make you feel better after drinking.
Theme: 1/3 Standard, Boring
Size: 3/3 Three sizes accommodated.
Overall Score: 17/20 Very good find.Worth looking for. DO STOP BEFORE GOING ON SPACE MOUNTAIN. The only fault it has is that it's boring; but Captain EO music can be heard from this spot.

WF#4
Exit of Autopia
Flow: 4/5
Location: 3/5 Tons of strollers around, no shade.
Temperature: 2/4 room temperature....outside!
Theme: 3/3 Themed towards the Nemo Submarine attraction.
Size: 3/3
Overall Score: 15/20 Strollers in your way, Flow good, Temp. not cool(excuse pun) Theme and Size saved the day. Usable

WF#5
Space Mountain non-FP queue.
Flow: 4/5
Location: 2/5 Inconvenient in line. Rushed.
Temperature: 2/4
Theme: 1/4 On top of normal pipes....Silver???
Size: 3/3
Overall Score: 12/20 BORING!!!! It's in a line....what did you expect? plus it's warm. Pass on it.

WF#6
Space Mountain FP queue.
Flow: 1/5
Location: 2/5
Temperature: 2/5
Theme: 1/3
Size: 3/3
Overall Score: 9/20 Rushed, Boring, Warm...This better NOT be the water of Tomorrow!! I'm not touching my lips to the metal for this!!!

WF#7
Exit of Star Tours, farthest back exit of attraction.
Flow: 3/5
Location: 3/5
Temperature: 4/4
Theme: 1/3
Size: 3/3
Overall Score: 14/20 Great COLD water....In a galaxy far far away....anyways, it's hard to reach; you have to be getting off the ride to get there. But besides the line for this Attraction, this water is worth getting to.

WF#8
Exit of Star Tours, don't get confused with the last one. This is right before leaving down the ramp.
Flow: 3/5
Location: 3/5
Temperature: 3/4
Theme: 1/3
Size: 3/3
Overall Score: 13/20 Not bad...But when you're as close to the previous WF, just walk over and get that instead. Still a good option for an attraction dependent WF

Best Water Fountains in The Park (grading system)

Water Fountain Scoring System

Breakdown

Each Water Fountain will be graded on a Twenty Point system, each with the chance to attain said Twenty Points, or not. Two of the Parameters will have a Five point scale, One will have a Four point scale, and Two will have a Three point scale.

Parameters:

1. Flow.

Flow will take into consideration the way the water reaches your lips. Within this category, items that will be considered during grading will include: The Arc of the Stream (which is how high or powerful the stream is coming out and whether or not you have to strain your neck or get you lips perilously close to the metal), Thickness of the Stream (which will describe how much water is coming out and whether or not you have to slurp and embarrass yourself or just let the water do all the work and flow into your mouth).

Grading for Flow.

Flow will be graded on a five point scale that will give you a clue as to what to expect, which is as follows:

*=Disappointing in all aspects of flow

**=Less than good. Lips almost touching metal and neck craned. Very thin Stream.

***=Average. Bad Arc but good thickness of Stream.

****=Good. Arc is accessible, and Stream is thin.

*****=Perfect=Arc is far from metal, Stream is thick. Water does all the work. Enjoy.

2. Location/Need.

Location will take into consideration that moment when you want/need water and the location of the the Fountain near the "Hot Spot." Location will also take into mind the amount of traffic near the Fountain and whether or not it is easy reach at a moment's notice and whether other Guests tend to block the Fountain.

Grading for Location/Need:

Location/Need will be graded on a Five Point scale that will give you a clue as to what to expect, which is as follows:

*=WTH! Middle of Nowhere, heavy traffic, no shade.

**=Err. Too close to a bathroom thus heavy traffic, has shade. Okay moment of Need.

***=Okay. In an attraction queue. Decent Moment of Need with traffic.

****=Great. Shade, low traffic, short walk from "Hot Spot."

*****=Perfect. Shade, low traffic, inside "Hot Spot" and thus perfect Moment of Need.

3. Temperature.

Temperature will take into consideration the temperature of the water, taking into consideration whether or not the Fountain is in the shade and is being affected by sunlight.

Grading for Temperature:

Temperature will be graded on a Four Point scale that will give you a clue as to what to expect, which is as follows:

*=Bad. The water is hot. You'll spit it out, or make soup with it.

**=Eh. Tepid. Only good for chapped lips.

***=WOW. Too cold. Hurts your teeth and forces you to take only a sip at a time.

****=Perfect. That temperature that lets you sustain a lengthy drink and cools body and mind. Sprite has nothing on this thirst quenching power.

4. Size.

Size will take into consideration the height of the Fountain; are there multiple accommodations for shorter Guests (kids) and taller Guests (adults)? Also do they function independently, for example: does one fountain lose pressure once another connected Fountain comes into use?

Grading for Size:

Size will be graded on a Three Point scale that will give you a clue as to what to expect, which is as follows:

*=Accommodates only short sized Guests.

**=Multiple accommodations, although they do react to each other.

***=Multiple accommodations, independent.

5. Theme.

Theme will take into consideration the Land the Fountain is in and whether or not it is themed to the Story of the Land (does it fit in?), and whether or not the use of them detracts from Size and/or Location/Need.

Grading for Theme:

Theme will be graded on a Three Point scale that will give you a clue as to what to expect, which is as follows:

*=Standard. Nothing special, just a Water Fountain.

**=Good. Themed to the Land, but Size and Location/Need are compromised.

***=Perfect. Themed to the Land, does not compromise Size and/or Location/Need.

Breakdown of Overall Score:

Twenty Point Scale.

5-7= Not worth emergencies. Stay away. Buy a water bottle instead.

8-10= Really!? You can do better. Okay for emergencies, but you better have an emergency.

11-15= This is an okay source of water. Nothing special, just a Water Fountain. Splash your face and find a better Fountain.

16-18= AAAAHHHHHH. That's refreshing and relaxing! Great Minds drink alike.

19-20= Fountain of Youth? Maybe not, but you will feel like a kid again at how Awesome this Water Fountain is. Take a picture of this one, it's a Beauty, put in your Christmas Greeting Cards that you’re gonna mail to everyone. Did I mention Thirst Quenching? How about Awesome?
